What you Should Bring to Delhi
Cash
Euros, Sterling, Dollars and Indian Rupees notes are all accepted in our dental tourism clinic in India. It is the best mode of payment at our clinic, you can bring up to 10,000 $ in cash per person in India. No problem in bringing this much of cash with you – rest you can bring in – Travellers cheques or in your Travel cards.
Travellers Cheques
You will get the best value for money if you bring travellers cheese in USD $. Therefore, UK patients should bring sterling travellers cheques and Irish patients should bring Euro travellers cheques, Americans Canadians & Australians’ should bring travellers cheques in their respective Dollars. Some banks issue travellers’ cheques free of commission.
You can bring up to 3000 USD $ in travellers’ cheques per person in India.
We will advise you which bank is currently offering the best rate so that you can convert your travellers’ cheques into the local currency in India which is Indian Rupee. You can then use your Indian Rupees to pay for your dental treatment.
You must take your travellers cheque purchasing receipt with you as some banks have a limit on how much you can change per day without this receipt.
Debit card to use in ATM machines
Some banks here do not charge for ATM withdrawals in foreign countries
although they may limit your daily withdrawal – limit here is 20,000 INR to
40,000 INR in a day.
If you are going to use this method of getting cash in India, you should
contact your bank and ask them to increase your daily limit so you can take
larger amounts from the ATM.
Most important thing is you should let your bank know in advance that you
are going to India and to New Delhi, so they will let you operate your card
here otherwise for security reasons they block your card and then it will be
big problem for you.
